We were thrilled to launch the innovative new curriculum for Bryant Group Motorsports Academy (BGMA) in the Atlanta Public School District this semester, beginning at Bunch Middle School in Southwest Atlanta.
A special thank you to APS Superintendent Meria Carstarphen who emerged as one of most significant champions for the BGMA work in schools, of 'connecting education with aspiration.'
BGMA promotes and encourages STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) education, and now what BGMA refers to as STEAM-CL (science, technology, engineering, arts, math -- connecting to Confidence and Leadership).
Superintendent Carstarphen showed up and spoke at the Annual Meeting of the HOPE Global Forum earlier this year, and she showed up again at Bunch Middle School, when we launch the initiative and in-school program.
A thank you as well to Dr. Anita Ward, president of Operation HOPE, and Tommy Ward of BGMA, who designed the in school curriculum, meeting state standards. Scott Bartlett, an advisor for BGMA, was also key to the founding start-up of and for this program.
